Error Messages & Fixes
Last updated: March 27, 2025
Error messages can sometimes appear while using Echo. Below are some of the most common ones and how to resolve them.
“Access Denied” or “Permission Error”
Cause: This error typically occurs when Echo does not have the correct permissions to access your calendar, video calls, or integrations.
Fix: Go to Settings > Integrations and check the permissions for your calendar and video conferencing tool. Re-authenticate your integrations and ensure all required permissions are granted.
“Echo wasn't let into the meeting”
Cause: Echo was not accepted into the call by the host or another participant.
Fix: Ensure you approve Echo to join your call by accepting it into the call. Echo automatically leaves calls if no action has been taken for 5 minutes to save compute for active users.
“Echo waited for 5 mins but no one joined”
Cause: No participants joined the waiting room so Echo deems it a false call.
Fix: If you and the other participants are running late and Echo has left after 5 mins, you can manually invite it through the Echo dashboard.
“Echo taking notes”
Cause: This message occurs when a live meeting is happening and therefore Echo is notifying you it is actively recording.
Fix: No fix required. Approx. 1-2 mins after the call has ended you'll see a 'Completed' message instead.
